前軍人泰爾（奧斯卡伊薩克 飾演）從軍人轉行成職業賭徒，但在成為賭徒之後，他依然被過去的陰影纏身。也許他早就有完美的理由從這壹切脫身，但他依舊無法原諒自己。在他遇見年輕人齊克（泰謝裏丹 飾演）及神秘且聰明的女子琳達（蒂芬妮哈戴許 飾演）之後，齊克給了他壹個機會拯救過去的自己；琳達則給了他壹個方向展開新生。但，人生如牌局，妳手上的牌固然重要，妳怎麼打，才是決勝關鍵。
